Awards and Shows

From January till June 2021:

In January I entered two pieces, Portrait of Nepal and Portrait of South Korea for Celebrate Diversity Show at Artel Gallery in Pensacola, FL. Portrait of Nepal won 3rd place.

Also in January, my Cranes piece received an Honorable Mention with Art Show International Animal Juried Art Competition.

I had one piece in the Torn Together show at Artel Gallery, Pensacola FL during the month of April. The theme was assemblage, collage, pieced together, mediums, objects, and subjects.

During May and June, I entered the Louisville Arts Association 2021 National Photography Show and Sale in Louisville, Colorado. I won 1st place in the Digital Manipulation Category with my piece, Portrait of Vietnam. This was a great show, and a new one for me. I do hope to be included next year.

Currently, I have one piece in the Artel Gallery Show, Keeping It 100 in downtown Pensacola. It will be exhibited until July.

A Thousand Sunsets.

Looking ahead, I am planning a solo exhibition with Art Show International featuring my Portrait Of series. This will be an online exhibition only.

Listing all these shows and achievements together feels rather pretentious. Looking at this alone, it might be considered bragging. But when you compare it with the number of rejection emails, these are wins!

Although I do not need a juror, art collector, or art organization to validate my art work and its worth; it does feel nice when they do. I do it because I love it. I'm proud of my art, but every now and again having someone agree with your vision is the encouragement and confidence you need to keep on creating. Every piece I enter, I would buy myself and hang in my home (if I had limitless wall space!)

I will have another update covering July to December 2021. I wish I could dedicate more time to posts, but homeschooling my child takes priority.
