About

Most days, the beauty in this world is breathtaking. I can’t help but respond in awe to the Lord through making art. It’s a wonderful adventure, which I'd love to share with you.

Meet the Artist

Evelyn Espinoza is a multidisciplinary artist working in digital montage photography, watercolor, and oil painting. Her work explores memory, travel, and the emotional landscapes we construct from the places we experience. Rather than documenting a location exactly as it appeared, she creates images that reflect how it is remembered—layered, selective, and deeply personal.

During her travels, Evelyn photographs everything that captures her attention, from expansive landscapes and architecture to subtle textures, changing light, and fleeting moments. Returning home, she revisits hundreds of photographs, selecting fragments that best represent her experience of a place. Using only her own photographs, she digitally cuts, layers, erases, and rearranges as many as thirty separate images into a single composition. The finished montages become visual memories: dreamlike interpretations in which some details emerge vividly while others fade into the background, much like memory itself.

Her photographs also serve as the foundation for her watercolor and oil paintings, allowing her to revisit places through multiple artistic processes. Working in series, she often explores a single location or subject from different perspectives, revealing the colors, patterns, and emotional connections that continue to evolve long after the journey has ended.

Evelyn has been creating digital montage photography and oil paintings since 2007 and has worked in watercolor since 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from the University of Hertfordshire in England and has continued her professional development through advanced study in traditional painting, figurative drawing, portraiture, photography, marketing, and art business.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, South Korea, and Japan, earning national and international recognition in photography, digital montage, and painting. She is represented by Helotes Art Gallery and Doriva Local Art Source in San Antonio and is a member of the American Watercolor Society, Texas Watercolor Society, Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama, Women in Watercolor, and other professional arts organizations.

In 2022, Evelyn wrote and illustrated the children's book Kimono Dragon Records, inspired by her years living in Japan. Whether creating photographs, paintings, or books, her work is driven by a fascination with how travel transforms our memories and how art allows us to revisit those experiences long after the journey has ended.
