Dance of the Pelicans

Photographs taken at Pensacola Beach, Florida, USA, then edited, collaged and layered together creating a new photographic image using Photoshop. I use anywhere from 10 to 40 photographs per montage. 

The pelican is a less than elegant bird when observed waddling along the pier. It becomes slightly more graceful when gliding as close as can bee to the water's surface. This piece is an attempt to elevate the unrefined fowl we know as the pelican, into a more graceful bird. 

This is a process I have been using for years that I've developed to create the Digital Montages that I do. It's digital cutting, pasting, erasing away; sometimes duplicating and enlarging, or reducing and fading away. It's a timely process, and I adjust the image as I deem fit for my creative vision. None of it is done with AI, or automatic photo stitching.
