These are small detailed scenes from life in the Hutongs (traditional, lower income living) in Beijing, and other scenes and locations around Beijing. These are odd, little snapshots of daily life around the city. Much of life happens outside, despite the frigid cold temperatures. This was a wall along a rockery in the Summer Palace. I wonder what the gentlemen were discussing while they enjoyed the winter sun's warmth.
