No More Coke
Original Watercolor
$750.00
Among all those carefully arranged bottles, just one or two slots stood empty. Tiny interruptions in an otherwise orderly pattern. My eye kept returning to them. In a display so full of repetition, those little gaps seemed almost impossible to ignore.
And I loved that.
Because isn't that often what makes something memorable? Not perfection, but the one unexpected detail that makes us pause.
As I painted, I found myself drawn to the contrast between the deep, weathered wooden racks and the luminous turquoise glass, with little flashes of red and warm yellow. I wanted to capture both the satisfying rhythm of the display and those small, conspicuous absences.
The result is a painting about vintage Americana, the charm of objects that have outlasted their original purpose, and the beauty of the imperfect details that give a place its character.
I can imagine this piece in a kitchen, a breakfast nook, a cozy reading corner, or anywhere a little nostalgia and color would feel at home. It would be especially lovely for someone who collects vintage treasures, loves Coca-Cola memorabilia, or simply appreciates the stories hidden in everyday objects.
